Weird Metronome - versatile and free software

The smallest, most versatile metronome software available, and it's free!

Weird Metronome - versatile and free software

"Weird Metronome is a program that acts as a metronome, displaying a blinker and using your computer's speakers to play its beat. But this isn't just any old metronome. I designed it with Easter European folk music in mind, so my main priority was to have it be able to play any weird meter you want. The result is that you can set it to play a measure of any length you want, with emphasis on any beat(s) you want, with sounds chosen from a library of nearly fifty percussion instruments.

I also designed Weird Metronome to be compact and efficient. I stayed away from all the pretty buttons and displays that you'll see on other metronome software, because those just tent to make a confusing, unfamiliar interface that's too often painfully slow. Well, you can tell that this baby's no-nonsense right from the start. The interface is straightforward, clear, and easy to use. "

jOrgan - Java Organ

The jOrgan, (Java Organ), software lets you use your computer as a full featured virtual organ or as an extremely powerful keyboard workstation.

jOrgan - Java Organ

jOrgan - Java Organ

Virtual Pipe Organs aren't necessarily designed to replace an actual pipe or electronic organ, however, they can be used very effectively as a very low cost practice organ with the addition of a couple of readily available low cost "Midi" Keyboards and pedals. If jOrgan is added to an existing Pipe or Electronic Organ's console it can add a tremendous amount of new sounds and features that previously cost many thousands of dollars with proprietary "Digitally Sampled Sound Modules". In addition, the jOrgan Virtual Pipe Organ can also completely replace or augment the analog voices in a huge number of existing older electronic organs for a fraction of the cost of a new Digital Organ!

Pipe Organ Relay

With the use of the Mididecoder utility as the device in the Sound Source, jOrgan can also be easily configured to replace a failing pipe organ relay at a fraction of the cost of a new proprietary solid state computer pipe organ relay. In addition to controling the pipe ranks, jOrgan can, at the same time, provide additional new complete digital ranks or Hybrid extensions of your existing ranks that you can sample and build into a sound font to augment your organ.

Miditzer Virtual Organ

Rialto Wurlitzer Style 216 Console

The Miditzer virtual theatre organ is designed to be easy to install and use. Simply download the executable Inataller program and it will install everything you need to explore a Wurlitzer theatre organ on your computer. No special hardware is needed. Almost all of the power of the Miditzer is available to you using just your mouse or computer keyboard. Add one or more MIDI keyboards to really play a theatre organ. You can build a full theatre organ console that is a surprisingly good replica of a real Wurlitzer Style 216, but do not try that as your first Miditzer project!

Wurlitzer Pipe Organs

The pipe organ has earned its place as the King of Instruments. No other acoustic instrument approaches the pipe organ in terms of the range and power of musical expression given to a single musician. The theatre organ is the member of the pipe organ family that went into show business. As such, it might be viewed as the Clown Prince who reminds us that there is nothing wrong with music that makes us smile.

The Linux Kernel Archives

The Linux Kernel Archives

Welcome to the Linux Kernel Archives. This is the primary site for the Linux kernel source, but it has much more than just Linux kernels.

What is Linux?

Linux is a clone of the operating system Unix, written from scratch by Linus Torvalds with assistance from a loosely-knit team of hackers across the Net. It aims towards POSIX and Single UNIX Specification compliance.

It has all the features you would expect in a modern fully-fledged Unix, including true multitasking, virtual memory, shared libraries, demand loading, shared copy-on-write executables, proper memory management, and multistack networking including IPv4 and IPv6.

Although originally developed first for 32-bit x86-based PCs (386 or higher), today Linux also runs on (at least) the Compaq Alpha AXP, Sun SPARC and UltraSPARC, Motorola 68000, PowerPC, ARM, Hitachi SuperH, IBM S/390, MIPS, HP PA-RISC, Intel IA-64, DEC VAX, AMD x86-64, AXIS CRIS, Renesas M32R, and Atmel AVR32 architectures; for many of these architectures in both 32- and 64-bit variants.

Magpie RSS - PHP RSS Parser

Magpie RSS - PHP RSS Parser

Magpie takes a naive, and inclusive approach. Absolutely non-validating, as long as the RSS feed is well formed, Magpie will cheerfully parse new, and never before seen tags in your RSS feeds.

This makes it very simple support the varied versions of RSS simply, but forces the consumer of a RSS feed to be cognizant of how it is structured.(at least if you want to do something fancy)

Magpie parses a RSS feed into a simple object, with 4 fields: channel, items, image, and textinput.
